I had a fantastic stay at this hostel in Kota Kinabalu. The staff were very helpful and accommodating, offering great advice on where to eat and what to do in the city. The location was perfect, with the airport bus just a 5-minute walk away and the waterfront night markets and grocery stores just 10 minutes away. The rooms were clean and modern, and the shower had hot water. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Plus, they had free breakfast!
It was all superb.

As someone who loves being in direct touch with nature, I appreciated the convenient location of the hostel. They even stored our luggage for us when we went on a two-day hike. the room was equipped with AC, a fan, and a private bathroom, making it comfortable for a budget stay. Breakfast was included, and there was a cozy café on the ground floor to relax in the evenings.
Felt good, no complaints at all.

Helpful staff who provided us with valuable information for our trip and made our stay pleasant. Good location with easy access to various attractions and facilities.- Enjoyed the convenience of having both air conditioning and a fan in the room.
Lack of amenities such as cabinets to store clothes and belongings. Inconsistent Wi-Fi signal.

The rooms at Halo Hostel are absolutely fantastic! They are brand new and have a really cozy feel. The private bathrooms are a nice touch, and the showers are top-notch. Plus, free WiFi is a huge bonus for us as we love to stay connected!
The only thing we found less enjoyable was the bidet in the bathroom. It's just not our thing, but we understand some people might appreciate it.

We arrived at Halo Hostel after a long bus ride, and even though it was only 5am , they kindly allowed us to check into our room. This was a lifesaver as my partner was dealing with food poisoning. The staff were incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. The room itself was clean and had a comfortable double bed with a good ensuite. Breakfast was delicious, with a variety of options including fresh fruit and made-to-order eggs and sausages. The hostel provided a quiet and peaceful environment, which was exactly what we needed. I highly recommend this hostel for its cleanliness, helpful staff, and above-average amenities.

We stayed at Halo Hostel twice while exploring Sabar. We loved the deluxe double room with its extra facilities and towels. the staff were incredibly helpful and even accommodated our early check-in and late check-out due to our flight schedule. the location in the city centre was convenient for getting around and there were plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. the free daily breakfast was a nice bonus, even if it had the same menu each day. We'll definitely stay here again on our next trip!
Hard to think of anything 🤔.

The staff at the hostel were incredibly friendly and helpful, always willing to answer any questions and provide assistance. The rooms were clean and modern, with comfortable beds and plenty of storage space. The hostel had a great location, convenient for exploring the city and accessing nearby attractions.
There was some noise disruption from a nearby establishment, particularly in the late hours of the night. However, the hostel was quick to address the issue and offered a room change, which solved the problem.
